Val Stokes is a self-taught artist who has been painting for twenty eight years following a commercial art career.
She has participated successfully in many group and solo exhibitions showing mainly her oil paintings.
Several cat calendars and numerous cards have been painted for Save the Children and the Waikato Hospice.
She is well-known for her paintings of rustic subjects, bush scenes and cats and has her own studio gallery at:
